Glamping Resort Feriendorf

The included onsen bath was a nice part of the stay. The cottage was spotless and clearly well cared for, with a mid-century feel, and it sits on a huge farm ranch plot. There are plenty of things to do at an easy country pace. Terrific experience!

I stayed at Ferry Endolf in a cottage booked for private use. The place sits in the forest, and the cottage felt completely different from a Japanese house. We had a very tasty BBQ on the wood deck right beside it. Breakfast was good too, especially the pretzel and sausage.

The beds were comfortable, and having a wood-burning stove was a nice touch, though the wood packs cost extra. The tents were okay, if a little musty, but we had no access to electricity anywhere on site. The toilets were a pitch-black 300-meter walk away. We paid 125,000 for two nights of glamping for four, and it didn't feel like good value. It was a mixed, pretty mediocre stay. The BBQ was great, but wildly too much food, especially meat. Even trying our best, the four of us left about a third of it. Breakfast, by contrast, was awful. There were no showers or baths anywhere on the property. By the front desk, a pack of dogs looked very sad and neglected, chained up and howling nonstop from dawn to dusk. Two horses there also looked neglected and unhappy. Some staff seemed as if they were prisoners working against their will, and few appeared empowered or genuinely interested in guests' experience.

The teepee-style stay was a lot of fun, and dinner came with a huge BBQ spread, far more than four people could eat. Breakfast was the opposite, meagre by comparison, with raw eggs as the big surprise. The lack of showers made the experience less enjoyable, as did the unhappy, noisy dogs near check-in and the restaurant.
