Cottage Star House Nakijin

Having the whole house to ourselves, without shared walls, was really nice. The deck was great, the bed comfortable, the shower hot, and the kitchen good. I forgot to let the owner know when we wanted to arrive, so we had to wait until she was available. She was friendly, though, and made us hot coffee when we checked in. The whole place could do with a power wash.

The location works well as a base for exploring the peninsula, and the Lawson's across the street is very handy. Just be aware that getting to a beach is a long trip without a car. The cabins were fantastic, with comfortable beds, a spacious bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen, living room, and terrace. Everything we needed was there, and the place seemed brand new. It will probably look even nicer once the palms have grown.

The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. We really liked our cabin, and it was wonderful to spend the evenings relaxing in the peace and quiet. A great place to stay while exploring the north of the island.

The bathroom faced outside, and there was no curtain, so people outside could see the silhouette of whoever was bathing. The Wi-Fi was also a problem. We needed to stay connected, but it didn't work, so I used my own data for all three days. We arrived in summer, when it was really hot, and I was excited because the place looked pretty good. After checking in around 1200, we were tired from traveling and tried to cool off and nap, but we were sweating because the AC didn't seem to work. It turned out to be working, though. There was no staff around when we wanted to mention the issue, so we went out for dinner instead. When we got back, the AC felt like it was working, and we slept well. All in all, it was a good place for a staycation.
