Kouri Ocean Villa

We stayed on Sunday, June 30, 2024. The living room sofa and table mats were very dirty and hadn't been cleaned or replaced. Staff said the mat was black on one side and white on the other because it was old, not dirty. That excuse didn't ring true. The kitchen dishwasher didn't work, and the official response was that we couldn't use it. The outdoor balcony bathtub had a crack in the bottom. The owner only taped it, so we were afraid to use it in case it cut someone. Later, they said it was old equipment and taping it wasn't damage. The bathtub in the beautiful photo was broken, and the furniture was dirty. Parking was easy and the sea view was nice, though the accommodation is actually quite far from the beach. Getting the key was inconvenient: before check-in, we had to go to another island to collect it, and the pickup window was only 3 PM to 7 PM. The management company had given us the wrong contact number, a weekday hotline, even though we were staying Sunday, so we couldn't reach anyone when problems came up. Staff said they'd sent us a letter, but I called Agoda internationally right after the incident to ask for help contacting the accommodation, and only then did they send a letter in response. The shop's apology afterward felt completely insincere. After my review went up, a bunch of accounts living in Enna and Kouri posted five-star reviews, including some in Japanese. To me, it seemed they were trying to raise the rating by calling in local friends to review. Please beware of unscrupulous shops, Taiwanese people.

The wooden deck, hammock, and swings were such a relaxing spot to take in the ocean and starry sky. It's a roomy, comfortable, clean place with a good ocean view from every room, and simple rooms equipped with what you need. The popular cafe is right across the street, with juice and ice cream vending machines as well. We enjoyed strolling down to Kouri blue beach, and the island looked especially beautiful in summer. The roadside station and Sorahashi stayed busy into the evening, and we enjoyed some live music at night. Seems like a nice fit for families with kids, groups, girls' nights, two families, or couples.

The hammock was so comfortable, and the rooftop was spacious with a clear view of the stars! The villa had pretty much everything, from tableware, pots, and hot plates to a toaster, microwave, and rice cooker. They even had insect repellent spray and mosquito coils. There's a vacuum, though something like a quick wiper would be useful too. It felt like a waste for just two of us, but what a great place. The view and location were fantastic.

We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days as a family, and it gave us a taste of living in a house on the island 😊 The place is well equipped, so it works well for a longer visit. The housethe house and scenery are beautiful. I could stay here forever. Highly recommend if you want to unwind around Kouri Island.
