Loved the amazing view and fantastic pool, and the massage bathtub was so relaxing.

We were three people staying for three nights in mid-June. There were more bath and hand towels than we needed, which was handy. The welcome drinks came with three bottles each of chuhai, tea, smoothies, and water, but no beer, so beer drinkers may want to bring their own. We also got three ice creams, two Blue Seal and, for some reason, one Pinot, plus four cups of tasty local drip coffee per person. The plants by the entrance had grown over and made getting in a little difficult. We didn’t find bugs inside, though spiders and small centipedes can get in if you leave the door open. There weren’t many insects around the pool, except at night, when we saw a few scarab beetles, stink bugs, and spiders, so we stayed out of the pool then. We spotted geckos outside twice. We’d planned to walk to the beach, but the uphill walk back in the hot sun was too much, so we drove instead. Parking at Kouri Beach is free, but it fills up after noon. There were no condiments, though plastic wrap and kitchen paper were provided. No toaster either, so we toasted bread in a frying pan. The pan’s coating was peeling, and it would be good to have it replaced soon. Even with all the bedroom screens closed, morning sun came in and woke me early. Maybe it was a good thing, since I went to bed early and got up early. Early mornings at the villa are lovely. All in all, it was a great place to stay, and I hope this helps anyone planning a visit.

On the morning of March 1, we woke up in the sun and it was almost too hot. The kids jumped right back into the pool. We’d spent the previous day there, the last day of February, with a friend’s family, making two families in all. The weather was sunny, and the kids were thrilled with the pool. When they got cold, they could warm up in the jacuzzi next door, so they kept going back in. The adults barbecued while watching them. It felt like a real luxury to look out at Kouri Bridge and enjoy the nature of Yanbaru. There were two bedrooms with double beds and a separate Japanese-style room, which made it comfortable for both families. Having toilets and shower rooms near each bedroom was especially thoughtful, since each family could use its own. It sounds like a great idea to stay several nights and use Kouri Island as a base to explore Japan’s northernmost point.

The private pool was a big hit with the kids, and because we were the only guests, we could relax and enjoy ourselves. We stayed here for the first night of our three-day, two-night Okinawa trip. It would have been even better if we could have walked to the beach easily. We also missed out on our morning coffee because the complimentary drip coffee had been forgotten.
