The host’s kindness and craftsmanship made our stay especially memorable. My husband and I both thought this was the best place we stayed during our Okinawa trip. If you’re visiting Okinawa, I’d say stay here for at least one night. There’s a lot more I’d like to say, but I’ll keep this short. I’ve left a detailed review on Airbnb.
The host was so warm and happy to tell us about the house, and you can really feel the character of the place. We had a lovely hot bath, then slept in a beautiful home just five minutes from the beach. We stayed one night, and it was one of the best nights of our trip. The setting, traditional building, food, and goats were all amazing. A baby goat even got loose! Thank you from the heart 💜
The way the modular walls opened onto the outdoors at night was one of my favorite parts. With a mosquito net in place, it felt cozy and safe, but still gave us a rare sense of being close to nature. We came as a family of three for two nights at the end of October, and our kid loved the cute goats. The traditional Japanese home is beautifully kept, comfortable and modern inside, and very clean. The bathroom and restroom were spotless too. The owner was friendly, professional, and discreet. I live in Japan and know Japanese hospitality, but this stay still exceeded what we expected. While we had breakfast in the dining room, he quietly laid out the futon in the main room, so it was ready when we came back to relax. Most of the facility instructions are in English, which also made things easy for foreign visitors. A memorable stay, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Japanese experience.
The ocean was pristine, just a few steps from the charming home, and the owners were lovely. We stayed here many years ago, but I still remember it as Okinawa heaven. We also found a great nearby bar with live Okinawan music for the evening.
Ruby, the Ryukyu dog, was there to greet us when we arrived, and the sea is only a short walk away through a path lined with camphor trees. I’d love to stay here again on my next Okinawa trip. The traditional house really impressed me. Our host explained why so few old homes with red roofs are still around. The wooden floor felt good under bare feet, and opening the shutters let in a lovely breeze. We hung the mosquito net as instructed and slept well. I also liked the host’s taste, from the low table to the Ryukyu glass cups and baskets. The toilet, sink, and bath were modern, clean, and easy to use.
