Having Orion beer on the veranda at sunset, with birds and nature all around, was a highlight. The quiet setting is also handy, with a local supermarket just a five-minute walk away, which makes it a good choice for families. The grounds are enclosed by Fukugi trees, and you arrive to a spacious garden and a charming old house that lifts your spirits. Inside, the traditional Okinawan home pairs beautifully with modern furniture and decor.

The veranda and large garden were my favorite parts. Inside, the old house has tasteful furnishings and decorations, clean rooms, and a well-equipped kitchen, so it was a comfortable stay. It was quiet and peaceful at night, then in the morning you could hear chickens crowing. The map they provided made it easy to find. I'm local, but I'd definitely like to come back. Thanks for a lovely time! (^^)

The nights were so quiet that we fell asleep to rain tapping on the tiled roof. In the mornings, goats came to visit, giving us a taste of life in Nakijin. We spent two nights here with our child and really enjoyed the renovated old house as a family. The interior blends with the view outside, and the rooms are tastefully designed. I especially loved sitting on the veranda at night. Thank you!

The deep eaves keep the Okinawan sun from heating the room too much, and through the glass I could see the rich green Fukugi trees outside. Looking past Amahazi, I found myself wondering whether people in the past spent the hot summer days indoors in much the same way, since Okinawans don't go out during the daytime in summer. The old Ryukyu house is surrounded by those trees, and its exterior immediately gave me a nostalgic feeling. Inside, the renovation feels quite modern, perhaps closer to a rebuild, but it still holds onto the old character and is comfortable to live in. I enjoyed wandering around and noticing how thoughtfully the furniture was arranged. A few spots, like the bed corners and above the light fixtures, could have been cleaned more carefully.
