There’s a beautiful beach nearby, so the location seems especially nice during swimming season. I also appreciated that the innkeeper was a lovely person who gave me space and didn’t interfere. I stayed here alone in January 2020, using the inn mainly as a place to sleep after days spent sightseeing and eating out in Okinawa. It wouldn’t suit someone looking for fancy meals at the inn or a completely private, quiet space. My room was 4.5 tatami mats, with a futon, blanket, air conditioner, and fan. The dining room, shower, washroom, and toilet are shared, though everything was very clean. There’s a separate smoking room and a washing machine with detergent that guests can use for free. I didn’t try it, but there’s a restaurant next door, and a convenience store is nearby if you drive. I’d recommend the place to people who are comfortable looking after themselves.

The owners are very friendly, so feel free to chat with them. There are several toilets and showers, which was handy. It was also quieter than I expected, with spacious enough rooms and a clean, comfortable interior that felt safe for women to use. Just watch out for the steep stairs if you’re staying on the second floor.

I keep coming back when I have early work in northern Nakijin or need somewhere to stay the night before. It seems to be the cheapest place in the area, which is why I use it each time, even though the posted room-only price of 2,000 yen is actually 2,200 yen, or 2,700 yen with air conditioning. The landlady is friendly, and there’s a hand-drawn map of the area in the room. One downside from my several stays is that some rooms smelled moldy.

The owner’s hand-made guidebook in the room was really useful, with lots of information about local restaurants and activities. The room, shower booth, and toilet were all very clean, which made for a comfortable stay. Sounds from outside carried easily into the room, though, since it’s a prefabricated hut.

The Wi-Fi was slow enough that I couldn’t watch videos, but I’d still like to stay here again. The place was very inexpensive, and I appreciated having a proper private room and the various hand-drawn maps. Thanks so much for everything.
