The hot spring water comes straight from the source and is so hot it feels like purgatory. I’m no hot spring egg or Terminator T800, so I went in with plenty of water. The dinner afterward was ryokan-style, and whether it was the local ingredients or the chef’s work, everything I tried tasted good. It’s been nearly two years since the earthquake, and I took a solo trip around the Noto Peninsula to support the recovery. This inn in Wakura Onsen was my first stop. The outside, guest rooms, and baths felt like an old-fashioned ryokan, just as others had said. I didn’t mind that at all. Nakai-san was especially warm and easy to talk to. We spoke briefly about the earthquake and all he’d been through, from the destruction to the difficult aftermath and everything since. We were smiling, but he seemed a little teary. You could still see the scars of what happened before even arriving, too. Staying here was one small way I could support the recovery. It was such a lovely inn that I’d like to bring my girlfriend next time. I’ll be back. Don’t give up, Noto!

The building is small, and there’s no open-air bath. But the staff are all so friendly, and both the service and food are excellent. The food’s delicious, with more than you can finish.

The salty, hot water straight from the source warmed me right through. I used the public bath as well, but I’d recommend this one. The food was delicious too, and Wakura Onsen is the best.

After a run of hectic workdays, I spent one night here to give my mind and body a rest. The food was generous and good quality, and the staff were all very kind. The hot spring was a little too hot for me, but I was able to relax completely. I’d like to stay again. Thank you.

For one night without meals in July 2025, I paid 12,030 yen. If you’re looking for an inexpensive stay in Wakura Onsen, this seems like a good option. There’s only a hot spring bath, no open-air bath, but since the inn is small, it doesn’t take long to get there and you can soak at your own pace. There’s a YouTube video that gives you a feel for the place. Search for "Namiyoshi Channel Wakura Onsen Hanagoyomi" to find it.
