I would not recommend this place to foreigners. The house was dirty, with hair and dust around, and bloodstains on both the futon and the wall. The owner, who called himself papa, was extremely xenophobic. He didn't try to help us understand the directions to the house, physically abused us, called us all kinds of names, and extorted money from us. He implied that we were part of anti-social forces and said he was friends with the police in a threatening way. He also touched my female companions inappropriately and gave us a lot of unwanted advances and advice. Please avoid this place, and papa, if you can.

At check-in, the landlord spent more than an hour lecturing and bragging, hinting that he had ties to anti-social groups. He persistently offered a ride we hadn't asked for and tried to make me get into a car. I was frightened and left for another hotel without staying. Because I was concerned for my safety, I reported the incident to Nikko Police Station. I asked the booking platform to cancel and refund the reservation, and they processed it. I've never had anything like this happen before, and I urge other travelers to consider their options carefully to avoid a similar experience.

The house itself was nice, but we didn't feel safe there. The caretaker was unpleasant, hit us on the heads, and intimidated us by saying he knew people like the police. He also extorted an extra 4000 yen from us for no reason. The owner refuses to believe anything is wrong. Don't go.
