The room had enough floor space to leave my suitcase open, and breakfast and climate control were both good. I paid around half what comparable hotels nearby cost, so I wasn’t expecting much, but it turned out to be a step up. My one wish is that the bed weren’t right by the window, the coldest part of the room. The location is great, right by the station.

Breakfast comes with the stay as a buffet, with a nice range of hot and cold options, though the quality was average. The basic room was good. The hotel is near Nara Station, but the main area and deer park are about a 15-minute walk away.

I’m recovering from two major surgeries, and the way the staff treated me felt very non-Japanese. They made me wait until the exact check-in time for my room without explaining why. I felt poorly treated.

The room was very small, but they did provide amenities and pajamas. Breakfast had little variety, and the food wasn’t always replenished quickly. I stayed one night at Comfort Hotel Nara because it’s a functional place for a short stop near the train station, just a short walk away.

10/10
Breakfast was the best part, delicious and nutritious. I made the most of it and stuffed myself each morning before heading out to tour the temples in the mountains near Nara, some of which take a lot of energy to walk around. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and both of our two rooms were clean and comfy. There’s a microwave on the first floor, plus coin-operated washers and dryers on the fifth.
