This is about the B&B option, rather than the main resort. For Nasu, the rate was very reasonable, and the room was a good size for two, with comfortable beds and nice amenities. It was well kept, too. There’s an IH plate and a small fridge if you want to do a bit of cooking. Admission to the nearby park, where you can see fireflies in July, was included in the stay. Breakfast came with a smoked salmon sandwich, sausages, rustic ham, salad and Spanish omelet, plus craft apple juice and a choice of hot or iced tea or coffee. A good-value place to consider in the Nasu area.

The sound of a little creek outside made the villa feel especially peaceful. It was huge, with lovely wood from the floorboards up to the ceiling in the main living area. We slept well in the twin beds, and the bath was a highlight of the bathroom. Dinner was French food, beautifully presented in a refined style and delicious. The staff were attentive and helpful with ideas for nearby attractions. We had an amazing stay at Nasu Mukunone.
