I loved the quiet, romantic feel of this hotel, with its classic European architecture and views across a huge green golf course. The scenery was especially beautiful in the morning, with Nasu’s fresh, cool air. The onsen was a highlight. There were several private baths for a relaxing, secluded soak, plus a spacious public bath where I could unwind after a long day. Dinner was memorable, too. The French dishes were full of flavor and beautifully presented, made with high-quality ingredients. My favorite was the sliced beef, so tender and juicy it melted in my mouth. This felt like a luxurious, peaceful getaway in Nasu, with lovely scenery and great food.

The hotel has a warm feel, and its restaurant is nice. There’s lovely scenery close by, and the building’s architecture reminded me of an old Scottish golf hotel.

The private hot spring was a highlight, and the free late-night ramen and buffet breakfast were nice extras. Dinner at the hotel restaurant needs to be booked ahead. The place is a bit old, but still very nice and relaxing. The receptionist’s English wasn’t strong, though they did their best to explain the hotel facilities. If you want to explore the area, renting a car is a better option.

The staff were polite and pleasant, and I liked the English manor style and decor. But the hotel is really showing its age and needs refurbishing. I stayed in a European room, where the curtains in particular were worn out.
