Keiunkaku

I came hoping to try the cloudy sulfur water after finding the place on onsenguide.org. The water was very good, and the staff were polite and helpful. We’d also hoped to use the outdoor bath because the photos looked beautiful, but day visitors can only use the indoor bath. It’s a good indoor bath, though we were a bit disappointed. The higaeri restriction is clearly stated on the Keiunkaku website, but I couldn’t find it on Google Maps or the Onsen Guide page. I should have looked into it more, but wanted to pass that along. Maybe the staff could consider letting day visitors use the outdoor bath in future.

My first visit, four years ago, left me with a wonderful impression. Coming back this time was disappointing. The hotel seemed poorly maintained, with dirty windows and moldy corners, and the service wasn’t as good. A lot has changed in the area over those four years.

The spring water itself was great, and the facility has a lot of charm. The higaeri bath, though, felt old and rather small, and the cleaning could use more attention. The window view should be lovely, but dust on the glass made it hard to enjoy. It looked as if nobody had cleaned it.

The service, food, and view were all good.
