Comfort Hotel Niigata

Close to the station and lots of places to eat, this felt like a calm, clean retreat. The friendly staff welcomed us with a complimentary hot or cold drink in the reading room. There are several vending machines and a laundry, and it really felt like a home away from home. I highly recommend staying here in Niigata.

I spent three nights here. The rooms are small but immaculately clean, and everything is in order. The buffet breakfast was much better than I expected, with a wide range of options. I especially liked the scrambled eggs and Niigata rice. The hotel is also very conveniently located, only a few minutes’ walk from Niigata station. The staff were generally helpful, though I had a confusing experience when I asked for help calling a local restaurant that only speaks Japanese to reserve a table. The young woman and middle-aged woman didn’t respond or say anything to my request. I even offered them my Skype phone, but it felt like they didn’t want to help at all. I’d probably still recommend this hotel.

The breakfast was delicious, and I stayed for four nights. They even kept my luggage for me until I came back to check in again. The hotel also has bicycles I could use to get around Niigata city. Good in every way.

It’s about a five-minute walk to the station, and the staff were friendly. The beds were comfortable, and breakfast was included. You can leave your bags before check-in or after checkout. The pillows were too flat for me, but reception has extra ones.
