JR East Hotel Mets Niigata

I spent three nights in a Standard Single facing west and slept well without noise. The hotel connects directly to the station, so it took less than five minutes to get from the Shinkansen platform to my room. The lack of a microwave was inconvenient, since I had to carry some heated food from Seijo Isshi across the station.

There are plenty of restaurants in the station, and a convenience store beside the hotel entrance on the second floor, so getting food is easy. The hotel connects directly to Niigata Station, which is useful in bad weather and when carrying a big bag. Drivers can use the designated lot in the facility opposite the hotel, then walk through the station corridor to reach the hotel without going outside. The rooms are a little small, and some people may find the construction cheap-feeling. Still, I found it clean and reasonably priced.

The twin room was spacious and clean, with the bathroom and toilet in separate spaces. We would have liked brighter lighting in the room, although the lights in the bath and toilet were bright enough. The hotel links directly to Niigata train station, yet it was quiet at night. There’s also a Japanese restaurant and a souvenir shop connected to it. A pleasant and very convenient stay.

The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and practical, and there’s self-service laundry. The hotel is directly connected to Niigata station.
