The hotel team made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Service was very good, and they even tried to arrange an English-speaking staff member for dinner. One day we forgot to stay for dessert, so the restaurant called our room and had it delivered to us. The onsen was nice and cozy, though the indoor baths were all hot, with no cooler or cold pool. The food was very traditional. The beef was stellar, and the sashimi was super fresh. Some foreigners may not be used to it, but we appreciated the freshness and variety.

The service stood out most: every staff member was pleasant and helpful, and the lounge had a nice amount of space with free drinks. We used a plan that included a ride to their restaurant in town, and the driver was good. They were also fine with us extending our stay. The ryokan is large, and I’m finding that bigger places tend to have more spacious baths and facilities. Both baths here are quite large and each has an outdoor bath. From our fifth-floor room, the view was a wide rice field, though in winter nothing had been planted. I’d definitely come back.
