Nikko Chuzenji-ko Onsen Hotel Hana-An

Our room looked right out onto Lake Chuzenji and the big Torii gate. It was spacious, very clean, and the onsen was lovely for unwinding. The bus terminal was just a 3-5 minute walk away, and Kegon Falls was an easy stroll. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious. We’re grateful that the hotel accommodated our no-pork dietary restriction for the Kaiseki dinner. Mr. Andre showed us to our room and explained things clearly. Even with a busy restaurant, he patiently went through every dish with us. We felt a little bad taking so much of his time, but he was polite and genuine, and the other staff were welcoming too. I’d stay here again if I’m back in Nikko.

We’d booked one night at Hotel Hanaan, then got in touch the day before to ask about adding another. We’d recently gotten engaged in Nikko and hoped to stay longer to celebrate. They replied quickly, and although we couldn’t keep our first room, they moved us to an even bigger, nicer one with a private outdoor onsen for no extra charge. Such a lovely engagement gift. The staff were caring, attentive, and professional, and made us feel warmly welcomed. The lake views were stunning and the location was perfect. They also provided pyjamas, kimonos, and indoor and outdoor slippers, which guests could wear to breakfast. Breakfast was delicious and worth booking.

The view from my room at Hotel Hana An Chuzen-ji Lake Nikko was stunning. I’d booked without meals, then added dinner for my second day and was glad I did. The staff were kind and spoke English well, which made me feel comfortable. I’m so happy I stayed here, highly recommended!

We came for our wedding anniversary and had an incredible stay. The room was comfortable and looked out over the lake, and the waterfall park and local shops were within walking distance. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
