My private room had its own toilet, though the shower was shared. The hotel works well for a stay in Nikko. The shared room on the first floor didn’t feel very inviting for hanging out or meeting people. It’s near the station but a long way from the main temples, though there’s a bus. I had a balcony too, but there wasn’t a chair, so I never used it.

The place was very clean, especially the room and attached toilet, both spotless. It’s well maintained, so thanks to the owner. The room is small, but has what a traveler needs. For one person it’s more than enough, while two people would find it just okay.

The location made getting around easy, with a convenience store right across the road and restaurants, the station, and a supermarket only a short walk away. Guests can also use the free public bath downstairs. The room was small but fine for a brief stay. WiFi was unreliable: it worked one night, then went down until the next morning. Check-in starts at 3 pm, and when we arrived a few minutes early, people were already waiting outside. There’s no luggage storage, though they do have a few paid lockers.

For a solo traveler keeping things simple, this worked perfectly. The bunks were cozy, with enough room inside and beside them for my gear and to get changed. Everyone was considerate and quiet, and I had no complaints. The staff were helpful and kind the whole time. There’s an onsen, but I couldn’t use it because of my tattoos, which I understood and respected. The receptionist explained and kindly refunded the small onsen fee. Thanks so much! 🤗

The owner was friendly and helpful, and the stay felt welcoming. I’d happily book here again if I come back to Nikko. The rooms give you more privacy than the usual capsule setup, avoiding open dorms and snoring neighbors, with secure luggage storage and surprisingly roomy beds compared with pricier Tokyo options. There’s coin laundry on the first floor and communal baths, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. Hotel Pamitico is miles ahead of the typical Tokyo capsule hotels that squeeze hundreds of guests into tiny spaces with just one elevator. It was comfortable and good value for exploring the area.
