Shibugoe Onjuku

The location was perfect, and the staff were so friendly. We had a wonderful time and thought the amenities were superb. We’ll absolutely come back :)

Being right by the beach was great. We could watch surfers from the balcony and walk straight down to the sand, and customer parking was free. There were quite a few problems, though. The bathroom still had sand from previous guests and dirt marks on the wall, and the amenities felt old. The public bath wasn’t clean either, and both tubs had lukewarm water, which was really disappointing. There are only stairs at the front entrance and in the lobby, with no ramps for suitcases or wheelchair access, so getting around was difficult. A staff member at the front desk was inhospitable. He didn’t greet or acknowledge people coming in or out, and silently glared at me each time, which made me uncomfortable. My family was also almost charged twice. It was an honest mistake and the staff apologized right away when I went back to ask for a refund, but if I hadn’t noticed, it would’ve been pretty unfortunate. For what Sayan Terrace Hotel costs, the service and stay were below par. Personally, I think it’s better to find somewhere else in the area.

The beach is beautiful, and kids who like playing in the sand and water should enjoy it. We stayed one night in a casual twin and another in a deluxe twin. The rooms were good and had large TVs, though the furniture was old-fashioned but okay. There’s a mini pool, coin washer and dryer, microwave, vending machine, spa for M &W, a gift shop, and a cafe that’s only open in summer.

The food was great, and the sea view is amazing. I had a lovely afternoon there with friends, with the nice setting as an added bonus :-)
