Okunikko Guesthouse JUN

I came to explore nikko natural park, and this hostel is in a perfect spot for that. The beds were soft and comfortable, and the hostel was very clean. Takeru, the manager, is the best part: he knows the area well, speaks perfect English, and can point you toward hikes and other things to do. If you’re looking to explore around here, just book this hostel. It’s the easiest and most convenient option.

The bedding was clean and comfortable, and I could feel myself relaxing by the lake. I felt safe and welcome as soon as I walked in. Takeru took plenty of time to explain the rules and amenities, show me my sleeping spot, and make sure I was comfortable eating in the common area. I’ve stayed in more than 15 hostels over the past few months, and this guesthouse was near the top. It left me thinking I might return to Okunikko someday, maybe during flowering season. The supermarket closes at 8 PM, but that’s what you’d expect in a lake resort town.

The dorms face the lake and are clean and cozy. Takeru is a great host who showed me the popular hikes and helped me with rain gear. I usually stay in hostels while traveling, and this one ranks near the top of my personal list, even beyond Japan.

We picked the family room overlooking the lake, and found it clean, comfortable, and cozy. Jun guesthouse is great. Takeru, who runs the place, is really friendly and nice, and his recommendations were great too.
