Pension Lambchop Nikko

The food was delicious, and the portions were plenty for hikers. It’s pretty close to Tobu Nikko station, too. If you’re planning to explore the kirifuri area, this is a great place to spend the night. The hospitality was great.

The bathhouse felt new and clean, which stood out against the guesthouse’s retro style. Breakfast came with as much coffee as you wanted, and the salad was excellent. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, as other reviewers have said, and the price was incredibly reasonable given the location right by the tourist sights. I’d be happy to stay here again.

The food was a real highlight, with both the Italian dinner and breakfast tasting great. We were there on a weekday, so it was quiet and our family could relax. The inn is tucked into the mountains in a villa-like setting, away from Nikko’s tourist areas. It has a homey feel, though the owner kept conversation to the necessary service, which let us eat peacefully. Our room had a lovely atmosphere, with tiled doors and walls and stained glass made by the owner's wife. There wasn’t a toilet in the room, but several were nearby on the same floor, so that wasn’t much trouble. The bath works fine as long as a large group doesn’t use it all at once. The manga corner seemed to have lots of older titles that might bring back memories for adults. For what was included, I thought it was good value.

The kids had a blast with the exciting bunk beds and the old but engrossing comic books. The adults were happy with the authentic Italian food, which lived up to its reputation and left us satisfied inside and out. We had a wonderful family stay and came away with lovely memories. Thank you!
