The onsen was a lovely way to unwind after skiing, and the beds were really comfortable. Annupuri Onsen is well placed too, about a 20-minute drive from Niseko Hirafu. We could enjoy being away from the crowds without being far from the skiing. Staff communicated easily and explained things clearly.

The outdoor pool is huge and has a really nice atmosphere. There’s also an indoor pool, though it only fits about six people. The shower area has seven heads, tattoos are allowed, and the massage chairs and rest area are great.

The onsen, with both indoor and outdoor areas, was a real highlight. Rooms were comfortable and had what we needed, and there’s a small shop by reception for drinks, food, and other everyday things. Reception staff aren’t very confident in English, but using a translator on the phone made everything manageable.

For the price, this was hard to beat, especially around the holidays when other onsen ryokan in Niseko were about twice as much. The stay was clean, breakfast came as a varied Kaiseki meal, and the outdoor onsen felt cozy. It doesn’t offer quite as much as a luxury ryokan, but I thought it was better value than nearby Airbnbs or ski lodges.

I found the onsen small and not worth the high price. There’s just an outdoor bath, and it doesn’t offer much. I’d pay half at most. I’d try somewhere else.
