The rooms could use an update, though mine was clean and the staff were ready to help. Saisson serves a good breakfast, which you can add to the room fee if you want. The hotel is right across from Shin-Shirakawa station, just an easy two-minute walk. Use the entrance nearest the station.

Breakfast at the Saison restaurant in the lobby was quite good, with different options each day. The staff were friendly and could help guests who don't speak Japanese. The hotel was very clean, as you'd expect in Japan.

The food was great, and there are local places to eat within an easy walk. The hotel is right by Shin Shirakawa station, about a minute away. There isn't much else to do nearby.

The room was small and smelled bad. The bathroom had stains, and the pillow was child-sized. At least the JR Station is just steps away.

There aren't many power outlets, and one or two are tucked behind the desk. You can't adjust the air conditioner's temperature.
