The onsen has no view, and since a couple runs the place, don’t expect the service style of a five-star hotel. The price felt in line with the service, though. The food was excellent, with nearly everything from the sea and, most importantly, fresh.

We had a beautiful view of the West Izu sea right in front of us, and the sunset from our room was lovely. Even a short walk was enjoyable with the waves in the background. The landlady was cheerful and friendly, and I’ve already recommended the place to friends. There was so much dinner we couldn’t finish it. The private bath felt like a family bath, which was great.

We found a great inn. The proprietress seemed to handle everything herself, from cleaning to cooking, and the place was incredibly clean. The food was delicious, the hot spring bath was private when we used it, and the bath in our room was nice too, with a view of Dogashima. We could fall asleep to the sound of the waves, and Dogashima was close enough for a morning walk. It was a weekday in April, and there was only one other group staying, so my daughter and I could really relax. Since I was traveling with her, we needed a guesthouse room with its own toilet, and a hot spring was another reason we chose it. We ended up being very satisfied with our stay.

The inn is a good fit if you want to relax to the sound of waves along the shore. From the room’s semi-open-air bath you can look toward Dogashima, though the room bath itself isn’t a hot spring. There’s a separate private bath that does use hot spring water. The food was all delicious, with exceptionally fresh sashimi, and there was more than we could finish. This was my first stay. Guests handle laying out their own futon, tidying up, and serving their own food. There were yukata, towels, a hair dryer, and a refrigerator, plus shampoo, conditioner, and body soap in the bath. The parking lot is on the road from Hambata Market toward the port.

I was very satisfied with this good value stay, which included a night and two meals, delicious food, hot springs, and a spot near the sea. I’d definitely like to come back. A little more explanation about the hot spring rules, parking, and meal service would have made things more comfortable, though the lack of details was within what I could tolerate. Three of us stayed in May. The inn takes up to four groups a day, and our room was upstairs on the second floor. Dinner was served in our room, though you can eat in the first-floor dining room instead. For in-room dining, the food has to be carried up from the first floor in several trips, so take care if your legs aren’t strong or you’ve had a moderate amount to drink. The meals were filling and satisfying, with a healthy seafood focus: simmered golden-eyed snapper, several kinds of sashimi, and small vegetable dishes. There was no fried food. The portions can catch you off guard. We enjoyed everything, but ended up very full, with bloated stomachs. The first-floor hot spring is open until 9:00 PM, and guests can use it from 6:00 in the morning. The bathroom in the room isn’t a hot spring, but it’s available 24 hours. The quiet morning bath felt luxurious, warming up in the cool sea breeze. Our room had a lovely view, too. It would be nice to sit and listen to the waves as the sunset turned to night. The beach is right outside, a nice place to walk and look for washed-up debris, and it must be great during swimming season. Only towels and yukata, or summer robes, are provided, so bring your own toothbrush. Hair dryers and shampoo were available in the rooms and the first-floor bath. I wouldn’t recommend this place to someone who prioritizes security or clear instructions when choosing where to stay, but for me, the value and the seaside location made it a very satisfying visit. Thank you!
