Business Hotel Nishiwaki

It's a clean hotel by the river, with spacious rooms, a refrigerator, and a kettle. The bathroom facilities, including the shower, were good, and the price was very good value. There's an udon restaurant on the first floor, while convenience stores and other restaurants are about a five-minute walk away. You can rent a bicycle by the hour. Parking is free, with spaces in front, on the first floor, and in the basement. It's around a five to six minute walk from Nishiwaki Station in Hyogo Prefecture, and costs approximately 4,000 yen per night on Rakuten. Pay attention to the check-in time. The friendly owner carefully explains how to use the facilities when you arrive.

The area around the inn is lovely, with the river and mountains, and it doesn't feel too remote since there's a convenience store nearby. My favorite part of the trip, though, was the soba. There were so many delicious choices I couldn't pick just one visit. Duck soba with one and a half servings, extra duck meat, and rice porridge to finish came to under 2000 yen. Authentic soba at that price was amazing, and the value was great. The room was roomy, comfortable, and surprisingly clean, with thoughtful amenities. Parking for one car was free. It was my first stay, and the owner's service was excellent. He also owns a soba restaurant and came over in a hurry to see me off, even though I'd checked in early. Highly recommend this inn for its service.

There was a somewhat grumpy response when I called the front desk at checkout because no one was there, which left me a little disappointed. The location is excellent, and there was no trouble finding food thanks to the delicious soba restaurant next door. The room's microwave was handy, but the refrigerator kept making a metallic noise that was quite bothersome when I was trying to sleep.

The host was lovely, and I'd be happy to stay here again. I liked having to take my shoes off before going into the room. Though the building has an old, historic feel, the inside was clean and comfortable.
