Square Shibuya 2

The apartment was incredibly cramped and stuffy, and the place had a really bad feel to it. The building was being renovated, but the listing never mentioned that. I can't understand why they were still allowed to rent it out in that state. It felt like a scam. Never again. The outside looked exactly like the picture below, and we had a really hard time finding it because we never expected it to look that way.

The checkout was stressful. There's no staff in the building to help at any time, but I was told that being even one minute late would mean an extra $40 fee. The room was extremely cramped, and I could hardly move around. The beds were uncomfortable enough to give me back pain, so I had to buy a mattress pad. The bathroom and shower also smelled musty. There wasn't a full-length mirror in the room, only one in the elevator.

The location was a strong point, about a seven-minute walk from Shibuya station. We stayed from September 27 to October 3, 2024, and while I understand a Shibuya apartment may be small, this one was far too tiny for three people. One of us had to book another hotel. Cleanliness was just okay. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the pillow was too soft and flat. I'd give it somewhere between two and three stars, and probably wouldn't return.

This was especially frustrating on my birthday, and left me distrustful of the reviews and service. I strongly wouldn't recommend the place. The listing gave false information about the amenities. When I asked through a Japanese friend, they acted as if they didn't understand what I meant. Amazon Prime wasn't supported, and Netflix wasn't available either. Trash bags from previous guests had been left at the entrance, and the mattress, which was more like a bed pad, was so dirty I didn't even want to sit on it.
