Nobeoka Royal Hotel

On my business trip, I found the staff very friendly and liked the homey feel. The amenities are small, but there's a nice variety. Food is only available in the morning, and the breakfast was okay. There are bars around the inn, though I wasn't sure there were many proper restaurants. For a business stay, I thought it was a bit pricey. My main issue was the air conditioning, which is controlled by the hotel, so I couldn't set the temperature myself. The fridge was also too small for a long trip.

The staff's thoughtfulness and service really made up for the drawbacks, and I almost gave this five stars. I brought a family member who has trouble walking, and the staff were very considerate. I liked that they offered amenities and let guests bring in and set up extra things they needed, like a humidifier or pillow. Food is only served in the morning, and it was average. It's convenient for going out for drinks, since it's near the downtown area. I gave it four stars because the building is old and has a strong business-hotel feel, which may not suit someone with walking problems very well.

The room was clean, and the food was good for the price, both in taste and portion size. I liked having the option to eat in my room or in the dining room. Parking is spread out, so finding a spot can be a little awkward if you're in a remote area. The door closers seem broken: doors bang loudly, and I could hear the noise from two or three rooms away. It was pretty annoying.

Breakfast had lots of choices, and everything was delicious. The staff were very friendly, which made the stay fun. They also took care of small things, like turning on the heater before I arrived in the cold winter and making sure the fridge was already chilled. At the conditioner and shampoo buffet, they even handwrote “shampoo” and “conditioner” on the lids.
