Business Hotel Noda

The boxed breakfast is one of the reasons I sometimes stay here just to eat. It’s delicious, looks cute, and they let you take it to your room for free. There are three kinds of bread, potato salad, an omelet, sausage, and other items, with some of the sides changing from time to time. They used to serve breakfast in the basement restaurant, but since the COVID-19 pandemic it comes in a box instead. You can also pay extra for a Japanese breakfast set, which I enjoyed too. For dinner, I usually pick something up at the nearby Pal System store or Nippontei. The facilities are a little old, but they’re clean.

I chose this place because it was such good value. Breakfast is included, and for an extra 500 yen you can have a Japanese set meal. I tried it and thought it was delicious. I’m not sure whether the discount voucher for the hot spring next door is part of how they keep costs down. If you’re heading to the Kanto region, have a car, and want to avoid a cramped room, I’d recommend it.

The hotel is cheap, which may suit someone who can overlook a lot of black mold in the bathroom. I found plenty of it in the grout between the wall tiles in both the bathroom and toilet. The toilet seat was still cold, so I went to the front desk after breakfast to explain. All they said was, “I’m sorry.”

I couldn’t hear traffic from the road outside, so the hotel was otherwise good. But the bathroom in my room smelled like sewage. Before going in, I used the air freshener they’d provided as a temporary fix.
