The onsen (OFuro) was a highlight, with a very hot outdoor pool, an indoor pool, and a cold one. I even watched Sumo on the TV in the dressing room. Dinner was outstanding, five stars, and breakfast was great too. My wife and I stayed last night, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We set off early on the MCT trail. Within the first 10 minutes of our hike, we saw a Japanese Serow (Kamoshika), which was a special way to start the morning.

We spent two nights here while hiking the Michinoku Coastal Trail, and would happily stay again. The staff were kind, friendly, and helpful. Our room was clean and quiet, and the onsen was nice. Both dinner and breakfast were generous and very good. They also packed us an amazing lunch for one day of hiking, and it was very inexpensive.

A solid place to stay on the Michinoku Coastal Trail, with clean, spacious rooms overlooking the ocean and decent wifi. There’s an onsen downstairs, vending machines, and a small shop on the ground floor. You can use the onsen for the day even if you’re not staying overnight, for 400 yen.

This Japanese-style room was spacious and faced the ocean. The guest house is around a 25-minute drive from the spectacular Kitayamazaki cliffs, and there’s a public bath (onsen) with an open-air section looking out to sea. The food was decent, though it wasn’t the best we’ve had at a Ryokan. For the price, it felt about right.

The restaurant food was very good. At reception, a gentleman was kind and patient, and helped us book our next stay on the Michinoku Coastal Trail. Excellent customer service.
