Kamenoi Hotel Aomori Makado

The walk to Makado was inconvenient, which I noticed since I got there on foot. If you drive, you probably won't notice it as much. Still, I had a really nice stay. Dinner was especially good: I mentioned how tasty the small cup of beef stew was, and the wait staff quietly brought me a second one. Being the last guest to eat may have helped, but that little act of kindness earned the hotel big points with me. I usually avoid places like this because I'm worried about the cost, but at around 10,000 yen a night with two meals, it wasn't all that expensive given the quality of the food and the nice bath.

The staff were really friendly, and the onsen was fabulous. I felt relaxed in Aomori!

The hot tubs didn't leave my skin feeling smooth, so I needed to put on lotion afterward. The food was just okay. I think kani was the main dish, but I didn't enjoy the rest much. I also don't understand why coffee and juice weren't free. I've stayed at many onsen hotels in Miyagi ken, Iwate ken, and Aomori, and Makado was the only one without free drinks. The reception staff were very cold and couldn't even greet guests. It was a really bad experience and frustrating. They should train all the staff in good manners and proper conduct, or change them all.

I'd recommend this hot springs hotel for someone with a big family.
