B&B Neagari

We had plenty of room, and there’s parking on site. The place was comfortable and close to the train, with friendly staff and a simple breakfast that suited us. One thing to plan around: the front desk closes at 6 pm, which was inconvenient for us. The clerk spoke Vietnamese and some Japanese, so we used a translation app to communicate. I’d definitely recommend it.

The owner, who also tends the bar, was so welcoming and went out of his way to help. We met lots of friendly locals there too. Our room felt cozy, with good heating and lighting. It worked perfectly for two, though three people would have had a squeeze with luggage in our room. I can’t speak for the others. If you need somewhere near Kanazawa or Shirikawa-go, I’d suggest staying here.

We were a group of six and stayed one night in the B&B Neagari Annex building. Its three clean, tidy rooms share a kitchen, which makes it a good setup for families. The hosts were friendly and hospitable, and it’s a nice alternative to a hotel. Just be ready for a steep staircase to the rooms. Also, running too many kitchen appliances at once trips the breaker, and you’ll have to contact the hosts to turn it back on.

B&B Neagari is in a traditional wooden Japanese house, about a minute on foot from Nomineagari Station. JR Kanazawa Station is a 24-minute train ride away, and Komatsu Airport is a 15-minute drive. There’s a supermarket within a five-minute walk, and WiFi is available throughout the property. Rooms have air conditioning and a refrigerator, while each private bathroom includes a tub, shower, and hairdryer. An American breakfast can be added for an extra charge. This is a ryokan, or traditional Japanese inn.
