Noshiro Town Hotel Minami

The room was just okay, but I could watch YouTube on the TV, and the lobby manga gave me a chance to pick up one I’d left unfinished. For four nights with breakfast included, I paid 31,200 yen, which seems inexpensive these days. At the front desk you choose Japanese or Western breakfast and get a ticket; I tried both and liked them. Since I was there for several nights, they cleaned the room only once. There’s just one washer and one dryer in the coin laundry, so keep that in mind.

This made a great base for day trips to Shirakami-Sanchi, Akita, and Aomori, and at times it may be the only option. I didn’t expect such a clean, quiet, modern hotel in a sleepy place like Noshiro. The rooms are spacious by Japanese standards, and the Wi-Fi is fast and dependable. Staff were professional and helpful, and dinner is available at very reasonable prices.

Having a supermarket, pharmacy, and restaurants within walking distance was really handy. The parking area is spacious, and there are two washing machines. The large public bath is for men only. This was my second visit, for my child’s school trip ^_^, and the front desk staff were kind. I was glad to find a clothes rack and plenty of hangers in the room ^_^.

I was happy with how roomy and clean the room was. The breakfast buffet had both Japanese and Western food, like buffets did before COVID-19. I think lots of hotels still haven’t brought theirs back. I took a taxi from the hotel to Higashi-Noshiro Station, about 15 minutes, and I think convenient station access helps make this a popular place.
