The staff are helpful and welcoming, and there’s plenty around the neighborhood, from cafes and izakayas to grocery stores, supermarkets, shops, and universities. Musashi-Koganei Station is nearby, so getting to tourist spots is easy. The hostel itself is clean and cozy without costing much. You can book a private space or share with another traveler, and there are shared kitchens, dining and lounge areas, showers, and toilets. Everyone gets a locker for their things.

The dorm setup gives you your own space, and there are regular activities like movie nights and English conversation tables. They also have free Wi-Fi, ice, water, and earplugs. It’s an easy five-minute walk to the station, the staff are friendly, and the beds, baths, and kitchen were clean. The price is good for a Tokyo trip on a budget. Just know that a loud snorer can make a hostel night rough. I wish the restroom exhaust fan were stronger, though there’s a window in the second-floor one.

The staff made my stay, especially Tea, Rena, Rin, Kagan, Tatsu and Magie. They helped with all my questions, and I had fun swapping card games with a few of them. There were also painting and board game activities, inexpensive walking tours, and chances to learn about Japanese culture, including a conversation evening with locals and guests. The big common seating area made it easy to talk with people. It’s about a seven-minute walk from Musashi Koganei station on the Chuo Line, with Mount Takao reachable from there. Places to eat, supermarkets, and large stores are close by. The facilities were exceptionally clean. Dorms feel like little rooms behind folding doors, with a futon, light, nightstand, suitcase rack, and a number-code locker that fits a small suitcase or regular backpack. Dorms are separated by gender. Toilets and showers are private cubicles, with a shared sink area; towels and toiletries are supplied. Eye masks cost a little extra, and I recommend getting one. There are food baskets in the shared fridges, hot and cold water, microwaves, and what you need to cook a meal. Some guests made full meals. Laundry and extra storage are available too. This is the best hostel I’ve stayed in, and I’d absolutely recommend it.

Staying at WCB made me fond of Musashi Koganei, and I’ll definitely come back. I especially appreciated Michiru san and Ara san for their hospitality. The staff were kind and helpful, and the lounge felt welcoming, with everything I needed while staying in another country.

Rena was especially wonderful, and the staff went out of their way to help with everything we needed. The hostel was clean, lovely, and easy to reach, so we’d stay here again when we return to tokyo. There doesn’t seem to be an age limit for the dorms. On the one night I stayed, a very young child was restless. The front desk does have earplugs.
