The construction site right next to the hotel was a major problem. There was constant banging during the day and at night, and it sometimes made it hard to fall asleep or get proper rest. It’s expected to continue for at least the next few months. The stay was disappointing overall, especially for around $145 CAD a night. Other hotels I stayed at in Japan cost about $105 CAD and even included breakfast, while this one had no breakfast at all, which was the biggest letdown. The room was extremely small, even compared with other compact Japanese hotel rooms, and I expected more comfort and space for the price. The location in the middle of Akihabara, Tokyo’s famous electric town, was decent, though the nearest metro station was still about a five-minute walk. Late-night food choices nearby were limited, so I often had to walk farther or take the metro to find something to eat. Service was very average, nothing awful but nothing welcoming or memorable. Staff had limited English, and the atmosphere didn’t make me want to return. Free amenities included toothbrushes, shaving kits, face creams, bath salts, coffee, and ice, but they all felt basic. I found a bug in the room, and nobody seemed to care or follow up. Laundry was surprisingly expensive at about $15 CAD for a maximum of 2 kg, and the bag was so small it was hard to fit even a few days’ clothes. For what the hotel offered, it felt overpriced. Apart from the decent location, nothing stood out in a positive way, and I wouldn’t stay there again.

The riverside setting was so calm, even with five or six train and subway stations nearby. We stayed five nights in December 2025, and the staff were friendly and helpful. If you can, ask for a river-view room to enjoy the peaceful outlook. We didn't get to try the Italian restaurant inside the hotel, which looked popular and was often fully booked.

The bed was one of the most comfortable I can remember, a little bigger than a Japanese double in our moderate double room. The bathroom was clean and a good size, and the receptionists were welcoming and helpful with my questions. There are loads of shops and restaurants nearby, plus access to more than four train and subway lines. I skipped breakfast because I found more interesting Japanese restaurants within walking distance. My frustration was the cramped room and lack of shelves for my laptop. I also saw visitors eating brought-in food, like cup noodles, at the communal wooden table and chairs in the lobby.

I really appreciated the help from KC and Kasuga at reception. My daughter's toy had been accidentally left in the taxi that brought us to Hotel Resol Akihabara, and they kept at it until they found a way to get it back to us. They were so kind, and we're both grateful. The room was extremely clean, service was impeccable, and the location made it easy to get around Akihabara. We'd definitely stay here again. Thanks to the team at Hotel Resol Akihabara!

I spent about three weeks here over the holidays, from Dec 22 to Jan 10, and loved the place. The little robot greeter in the lobby is adorable. I also found the Italian restaurant breakfast very good, with absolutely no complaints about the food. Prepaying for it turned out to be a relief after I lost my debit card and had to block it, which left me with limited ways to pay. Having breakfast to look forward to each morning reduced that stress. The lobby has basic toiletries, tea and coffee to help yourself to, plus a microwave for food from a konbini. Staff were extremely helpful. My room was a bit small but plenty big enough for me, and I liked the somewhat larger bathtub. Storage for big luggage is limited, though I got my one large case under the foot of the bed without much trouble. I can see two people's bags making it crowded. As I understand the Google description, this is a Japanese business hotel, so some tightness is to be expected, especially for someone larger like me. There was minor damage to a shelf in my room. It didn't affect how it worked, but looked a bit rough on first impression. Akibahara Electric Town and the subway are both very close, so it was easy to walk around the former or take the latter farther into Tokyo. You can also walk farther afield. I walked to Yasukuni shrine and the Imperial palace, though the subway is really convenient if you avoid rush times. I don't know when I'll be back in Japan, but I intend to return, and if I visit Tokyo a third time, I think I'd book here again. I'm not much of a photographer, but I attached a few lobby and restaurant pictures to this review.
