Wires Hotel Shinagawa Seaside

The breakfast was okay, and the rooms were really nice and very clean. A very nice hotel with an Onsen.

The room was bigger than we expected, though the price felt a bit high. My bed was really comfortable, but the only pillow wasn’t. There’s a public bath for men and another for women, and it seemed popular, though we didn’t use them. It works well as a business hotel if you need to be in this particular area. There isn’t much food nearby, so the coffee shop on the first floor tends to be packed.

The staff at reception were friendly, which made a real difference for me as a European. Coffee, toothbrushes, and shavers were available to take yourself from reception. It’s handy if you want to be near Shinagawa by train, and AEON shopping mall is a five-minute walk away. The immediate area is limited, with convenience stores but no shops. The rooms are the typical small, clean Tokyo kind, with a cubicle bath, and the price was good. The nearest subway stations are Samezu and Aomono-yokocho, about a fast five-minute walk. With a heavy suitcase or in heavy rain, that walk is really only for the fit. They’re one stop apart, but not every train line you might want stops at both, so check your travel app. I skipped Station Oimachi because it was too far with a suitcase.

The room was good for the price, and the staff were really nice. It’s a bit of a walk from the station, though there’s a bus nearby to Shinagawa Station. I was on the 8th floor, and maybe it was just that floor, but there was an electrical buzzing sound, possibly from the air conditioner or another room. Earplugs might help.
