6/10
We spent four nights in the corner house apartment on the second floor. It matched the pictures, was very clean, and the staff were all friendly. Having access to the hotel onsen was great. The main drawback was the windows. They didn’t insulate well, so the apartment was very cold, and passing cars were really loud. We couldn’t open the window shutters because that would let in even more cold air.

Clean and spacious, with friendly staff. The village center location is ideal, about a 10 minute walk from Nagasaki Gondola and just 2 minutes from shops and restaurants. Highly recommended.

10/10
The town center is 5-10 minutes away on foot, though the walk is a little steep, and either gondola takes about 10-15 minutes to reach. We stayed on the second level, across from the sister accommodation at View Hotel Shimataya. There’s a small step up at the door, and the narrow stairs may be difficult for older guests or anyone with mobility needs. The one-room apartment is lovely, self-contained, and set up in traditional Japanese style, with cooking appliances and a fridge-freezer. It has its own space but still feels homey. Beautiful place, highly recommend.
