Gyoan Sasaya

Heda is a lovely fishing village, and the hotel sits in beautiful surroundings. The staff were really nice, and both dinner and breakfast were very good. Drinks were included, with tea, coffee, beer and other alcohol available without limit from 8 pm to midnight. Breakfast and dinner start at set times, 8:30 am and 7:30 pm.

It was a quiet Sunday night, probably because there weren’t many guests, so I could enjoy dinner, the Onsen, the all-you-can-drink bar, yoga, and calligraphy in a peaceful atmosphere. I’d suggest putting toothbrushes, skin lotion, and robes in the rooms and bath area instead of making guests pick them up in the lobby. Thanks, I’ll visit again.

The seven-course dinner showcased a lovely range of local food, beautifully presented, and breakfast was a good start to the day. Dinner drinks and the lobby bar were included, with local drinks, cold draught beer, and a wide selection of books in the lobby. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere felt relaxed. There are both public and private baths, plus yoga and calligraphy rooms. The lobby was quiet and comfortable, with an open bar, and the hotel was easy to reach, with parking and high-speed Wi-Fi. Mihama beach is about a 10-minute drive away, with a 7-11 on the way for drinks and food. If it’s crowded, Odoi beach is another 15-20 minutes south along the coast and feels very relaxing. I’ve already booked another stay.

For the price, this place in Nishi-Izu offers amazing service and a nice public bath. There’s a private onsen too. I’d definitely come back.
