Sanco Inn Numazu Ekimae

A clean, comfortable hotel near Numazu station, with lots of places to eat nearby. The staff were friendly, and there was a bar where you could pick a pillow and amenities.

For 6300 yen, this was great value, and I'd recommend it. We picked it because it's a recommended chain hotel just a two-minute walk from the train station. Check-in was simple and on time, and we were in our 9th-floor room within minutes. Our credit card didn't work, but that's on us, not the hotel. The room was tiny but manageable, with a comfortable bed, clean bathroom and a slider for the window blind. Breakfast was the best we've had at a budget chain so far, better than AB hotels. There was fresh coffee, cereal, bread and pastries, plus a Japanese breakfast set.

The shopping district is right next to the hotel, literally, and the train station exit is about a four-minute walk from the entrance. Breakfast is included. The rooms are small but don't feel cramped. If you're driving, the closest parking lots are a 10-minute walk away, and they provide maps. A reasonable location for the price.

It's clean, comfortable and affordable, and close to Numazu Station. The Amenity Bar has a lot to choose from, including toothbrushes, combs, individually wrapped hair ties and Q-tips. You can also pick from pillows with different firmness levels. Breakfast was delicious, and the free coffee after check-in from 3pm into the night was a nice surprise. The staff I met didn't speak English, but they were pleasant and helpful despite my limited Japanese. Love Live! Sunshine! fans will find the hotel right in the middle of Numazu's shopping district, near several pilgrimage sites and within walking distance of the other Numazu sites. It's also easy to get to Uchiura by Tokai Bus from Numazu Station, a bus featured in LL!SS!!. I'd definitely stay here again.
