Base Inn Tabata

The front rooms, by the AC, had decent ventilation and were okay. Everything farther down the hall was terrible. There was nowhere to lock up our things, so you either have to trust strangers with your luggage or carry 10kgs of gear around Tokyo. A friend booked this for our group. By the second morning, most of us had found somewhere else. The owner said we'd get refunded for the nights we didn't stay, then went back on that promise. That's low.

The smell of mold in the sleeping room was unbearable. You could notice it from the entrance. The place was dirty too, with leftover hairs on the bed and sheets that clearly hadn't been cleaned. I couldn't stay with that smell, but the host refused my cancellation and refund request, so I had to go through the booking platform. I think you can find much better deals in Tokyo. Avoid this place.

The bed was really comfortable, and the hostel was clean and in a great location. It's on the 3rd floor. I was very happy with my stay, and I'd come back and recommend it to friends.

Good price and location, but the beds are hard and there aren't any stoves.
