Business Hotel Plum Field

For the price, I have no complaints. It's a basic business hotel with what you need, and nearby drugstores, convenience stores, and chain shops make it easy to pick things up. Just be careful with the card key. The door doesn't lock automatically, and I left it unlocked when I went out.

It's cheap, and it has the basics, including a bath and toilet, air conditioning, and a refrigerator, so it could suit someone who only wants a place to sleep. But I was there on a work trip and wouldn't choose to stay again. The food was terrible, and I'd rather eat out. The older guys working there argued with each other in the hallways. Room cleaning runs late, so when I came back early at 4pm, my room was still open while they were cleaning. There's a strange setup with one boiler per room. The room above was incredibly noisy, and the Wi-Fi was weak.

The woman at checkout greeted us with a smile, and the grandfather had been kind to the children. Those were about the only bright spots, and the woman's greeting earned the place a tenuous one star. The older man showed up afterward, frowning, didn't greet us, and ignored us. We probably won't stay again. We were there as a family, and the stay was simply awful. It seemed family-run. The shoe rack was meant to be numbered by room, but the older man yelled at us even though the grandfather hadn't explained that. There's no elevator. Our room was dark and old, with two beds and a futon laid out, and the air conditioning didn't work well. The bathroom was huge, but there was hair everywhere, and the toilet was in the bathroom. It had a bidet, but the nozzle doesn't retract. Men should be careful, because if you hit it, it sprays everywhere. We went to bed quickly and woke up.

The room rate was surprisingly low, and I was comfortable and satisfied with the stay. There's a little manga corner and a fitness equipment corner around the bend. The hotel faces a main highway, and the spacious parking lot can fit large vehicles. Guests have to take off their shoes indoors, and each room has its own boiler. A notice says there's only enough hot water for one use, though that may only apply in winter. With breakfast included, the side dishes are already set out in the dining room, and you serve yourself rice and miso soup. I was surprised the amount of nori was already decided, there was just one piece of pickled food, and the salmon fillet was so small for Hokkaido.
