Chisun Hotel Yokohama Isezakicho

It was a quiet neighborhood, and I didn’t hear noisy neighbors or people in the hallway. There’s a long strip of restaurants nearby, a drugstore, convenience stores including one next door, and a laundromat right beside the hotel. Staff were great when I checked in, and the room was cleaned daily. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were provided in the room. The lobby had toothbrush kits and face cleansing oil packets, though unlike other Japanese hotels I’ve stayed in, there wasn’t any lotion or moisturizer.

Wang at the front desk made a huge difference when I lost my backpack on the Shinkansen. He made phone calls and helped me get it back, and I’m really grateful for how attentive and caring he was. The hotel is also very conveniently placed, about 100 feet from Subway Blue Line Exit B3 and a six-minute walk from the JR station-Negishi Line. I’d happily recommend it and will come back. My room was spacious and very clean. The front desk handled my request professionally and changed my booking from a smoking room to a non-smoking one. The only issue was the air conditioner blowing right at my face while I slept. I couldn’t turn it off, and the windows don’t open.

I finally tried the buffet breakfast, and it was fantastic. The dumplings, miso soup, rice with kimchi and pickles, mackerel, and yogurt were all tasty. The hotel itself is a bit of a hidden gem in Yokohama: near the train station, a nice park, and plenty of places to eat and drink. The rooms are fairly priced and a decent size, with carpet and fresh towels every day. It’s tucked away from the main street, so it’s quiet, but still an easy walk to everything. Highly recommend it. Book it!
