Hotel Paco Obihiro Chuo

The breakfast area staff were especially good, and the included meal had plenty to choose from. The curry was delicious. The hotel's location in the middle of the restaurant district is excellent for seeing Obihiro, with a convenience store nearby too. The building is showing its age, but it's kept very clean and left a good impression. All the staff were polite. Outside noise could be an issue for sensitive people, though it didn't bother me personally. The parking lot is a little way away, but you can stop in front of the hotel temporarily, so it wasn't a big problem. The lot is well lit at night, which made me feel comfortable leaving the car there.

A small business hotel downtown, old but well maintained and without any problems. You get a welcome drink, and while there's no large public bath here, guests can use the hot springs for free at affiliated Premier Hotel Cabin Obihiro. With its downtown location, it's a good spot if you're interested in nightlife.

We stayed at Paco Obihiro on our Hokkaido trip. The hotel is on the older side, but clean and safe, and the staff were friendly. At the daytime front desk, the young woman with glasses and her hair in a bun, and the young man with bangs and glasses, gave excellent service. Our whole family enjoyed the stay and hopes to see them again if we return. (Guest 611's comment)

It's good value if all you need is a place to sleep on a business trip. But if smells bother you, avoid it. The room itself was fine, while the unit bathroom smelled really bad. I borrowed a humidifier, then stopped using it because it smelled so awful and seemed like it might be from any era. The receptionist wasn't polite or helpful. You really are only staying here to sleep, and I wouldn't recommend it for couples or families.
