Obihiro Grand Hotel

For 5,000 yen, I expected better. There wasn't a desk, the bathroom sink coating was peeling off, and dead bugs were inside the ceiling light cover. It was gross. The footlights were broken, and the TV was mounted so high that it seemed meant to be watched while looking up from bed.

The staff who dealt with the phone and parking could have been friendlier. The room equipment is generally old, and the chair seat is worn and torn, though it has air conditioning and a washlet, so I wasn't too inconvenienced. The bed is a little small.

It's close to Yotsuba Arena, so I'd recommend it if you're going there. The price was quite reasonable, and I was mostly satisfied with the room amenities. One thing that bothered me was the toilet had no lid, so I kept worrying about dropping things I was using in the bathroom.

The building is old, but the price is lower than hotels right by Obihiro Station. It's about a 15-minute walk from the station, and there aren't any convenience stores within walking distance. The restaurant is closed, so it's room only. Air conditioning has been installed and the Wi-Fi upgraded. The unit bath is dated, though the washlet seat has been replaced. Parking is free.
