Hotel Route Inn Obihiro Ekimae

The breakfast was the surprise highlight. Hotel breakfasts usually aren't gourmet, and I don't expect them to be, but the food here was much better than I expected. There's a stew, a different kind each day, and that was the best part for me. The young cook stood there looking concerned about whether his dishes would please the sleepy guests. I liked seeing that attitude. The hotel itself was very cool. The AC worked great, the spring mattress was high quality, and the sheets were clean and fresh. The bathroom and toilet were decent, and the shower drained well, unlike at some other places.

The staff are very friendly, and the location is convenient. I had a great experience.

Good.

Honestly, I don't think it's worth what it costs. The room is small, with nowhere to put luggage, and there's no folding rack. There's an unusually large air purifier that looks out of place, but it isn't maintained well and the filter is full of dust. The public bath is small and visibly shabby, and breakfast wasn't anything special either. At this level I'd be fine with a cheaper business hotel. For the same price, I'd choose somewhere else. I'd heard of this place and don't often see it so cheap, so I tried it out, but I won't return. The other hotels may be better, though.
