Toyoko Inn Odawara-eki Higashi-guchi

The person helping with parking really stood out during our stay at Odawara Toyoko Inn. While I waited for my family in the cafeteria area, we had a friendly chat about Hokkaido. He was kind enough to spend some time talking when there were no cars coming in, and I appreciated it. Watching him help people park, I could see how much he cared about them and his workplace. You have a good employee there. I hope I can return from Canada someday. We had good stays in several places, including your hotel.

Odawara castle is close by, with lots of shops around, and Odawara station is a short walk away, including Shinkansen service. It’s a handy stop on a longer trip, especially for travelers with a JR Pass. We booked a standard twin room online because the other room types weren’t available. The room was tidy and had a reasonable amount of space for a hotel in Japan. Of all the Toyoko hotels we stayed at on this trip, this one had the best breakfast variety. The dining area is small, though, and seating can be limited.

The location was just right, with easy access to the station and nearby restaurants. At the front desk, the staff were very courteous and could understand and speak basic English. They have self-service luggage storage right in front of the desk, and kindly helped me arrange Yamato Takkyubin to another hotel. Breakfast felt rushed because the line grew very quickly.

I found the breakfast food very good, maybe the best of the seven Toyoko Inns I’ve stayed in, although the dining area does get crowded. The rooms are standard budget hotel rooms, and the location is very convenient. People often say the beds are hard, but as a senior with back pain, I found mine very good.
