Hotel AZ Saga Ogi

Really good.

I’ll come back when I need to, though I tend to use this hotel only when Saga has no other options. The fixed price across the country is especially useful on long weekends and over New Year. For that rate, having breakfast included is something I’m genuinely grateful for. Since the cost basically covers the room, breakfast, and service, I don’t fuss much over the smaller details.

The bed was comfortable, the soundproofing decent, and there was an outlet by the pillow, though you only get one pillow. The room itself was average in size, with a small TV and a standalone air conditioner. The unit bath was cramped, and getting the temperature right was a real struggle, lol. I ended up staying in Ogi because there weren’t any hotels in Saga City. People in Oita seem to know this place. I’d hoped to pay 4,800 yen, but 5,800 yen was still a bargain, and parking was free. Dinner at the hotel is very cheap, and breakfast is included. Since this is Saga, isn’t it Aburaya Kumahachi? There’s also a 100 yen corner. If the complimentary food selection is good too, I’m happy.

Those thin neon lights outside let light into the room. And after I’d stayed several nights and put my toothbrush in a bathroom cup to be eco-conscious, I found it set on the sink with the bristles facing down. Seriously, the worst.
