This small guest house is about 20 minutes from town and makes a great weekend getaway. The place was just right, with plenty of windows and an air conditioner that cooled the whole space. We didn't need or want anything extra, and especially for the price, everything was great. The owners are a very sweet couple. They greeted us each morning as we headed out and met us with a flashlight every night when we came back. We'll very likely visit again.

The cabin is quiet and lovely, cozy and well furnished with two beds, a futon, a small kitchen, and a bathroom. WiFi worked well. The nearest grocery store or combini is 15-20 minutes away by car, and there are lots of hidden trailheads nearby.
The owners are so kind and friendly, and they offer delicious drinks and snacks. The cute, cozy wooden cottage sits in beautiful nature, with lots of butterfly and bird species around. Animal lovers will be happy here too, since there are 3 dogs and 4 cats you can pet. It feels like heaven on Earth.
This is about an hour and a half from Naha and quite far up in the mountains, so the drive can feel a little scary, lol. The owners live right next to the building with their two dogs. They're both very friendly and helpful, and the dogs are sociable and love being petted. We were given shell ginger tea and pudding. The owners have a nearby field where they grow shell ginger, which they apparently ship to manufacturers for cosmetics and other products. The room has a loft and sleeps up to four, though there's not much room to spread out luggage. It comes with a microwave, kettle, some dishes, and coffee and tea. Cooking isn't allowed. You can rent a barbecue grill, except on rainy days. Nature surrounds the place, and it's pitch black at night. The nearest convenience store is a 20-30 minute walk, so bring food and drinks. You can hear insects and birds all around. If you're driving, park in front of the wooden table with the parasol. The road in is narrow and lined with dense trees, but keep going straight when you leave and you'll reach a road. A morning stroll around the area is nice, and Ishiyama Observatory is within walking distance. There was no au signal at all, but the free Wi-Fi worked fine. They only had one group of guests per day, so there were no connection problems.
It's a peaceful spot surrounded by lots of nature. Just don't expect to see any Yanbaru rails.
