The view from the second-floor bath was the highlight for me. Since the hotel sits up on a mountain, you can see the sunrise and a sea of clouds from there, and it’s spectacular. I’d been here for day trips and parties before, but this was my first overnight stay. There aren’t bathrooms in the rooms. The toilet in mine happened to be out of order, though the staff dealt with it quickly and were helpful. Breakfast is self-serve, with fresh bread, salad, soup, milk, coffee, and other things. I especially liked the bun.

The changing area was very clean, and the bath itself was roomy. It isn’t a hot spring, but the distant night view was lovely. I stopped in for a soak before sleeping in my car after driving from Hiroshima. It was past 7 pm, probably dinner time, and I had the bath to myself. I’d like to stay overnight next time and catch the view in the morning. One letdown was the tennis court out front. I called ahead and was told it’s in disrepair and can’t be used anymore. I hope they fix it up so people can play there again.

The room was a decent size, and the view was nice. That was about it for me. Breakfast was pretty sparse, just meatballs, salad, and bread. For 16,000 yen on a weekday, I expected more. It felt closer to an 8,000 yen stay.

The large public bath and coin laundry made the stay comfortable. And the mountain setting gives you an amazing view: fields ringed by mountains, with the red Sekishu roof tiles in the landscape. It really is a classic Japanese scene and worth seeing.

The view was lovely, and the bath and changing room were a decent size, even though this isn’t a hot spring. I came for a day-use bath at the end of the year. The place was clean, though the old bathroom mirror barely reflected anything, lol. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were available. There weren’t any skincare products like lotion, and I wish they had mineral water you could drink.
