Attamariland Fukabori Niji No Yakata

The hotel links indoors to its onsen building, and guests can use it for free. The outdoor baths for both men and women are amazing, definitely worth experiencing. The tatami room was large and clean, with a lovely view. There’s no bath in the room, but the bathhouse on the fourth floor looks out over farms and mountains. It’s an underrated place for the area. The walk to Osihida Station is easy and the scenery is spectacular. There’s no public transport to the hotel, only a local taxi, though I’d recommend walking around and exploring the surroundings.

The 25-minute walk from the train station is quiet, and taxis cost about 970 yen one way. I had a large tatami room overlooking cherry trees and fields, and the onsen inside was great. It’s accessible to Ginzan Onsen, so a good way to save $200 while still getting the Japanese ryokan experience. They even brought my bags up to my room after I’d dropped them off earlier that day. In three months of staying in Japan, only one other hotel did that. Really friendly service, and I had a lovely stay.

The receptionist had a lovely attitude and helped us arrange one more room when I asked during check-in. The hotel's service was very good. If I get the chance to return, I’ll book here again.

The room had a nice view, and it was cheaper than the other hot spring hotel.
