Such great value for the money. Friendly staff, excellent service, amazing food. Five stars all around, highly recommended.

This is a quiet, comfortable hotel with a Lawson just a few minutes away, though there aren’t many restaurants nearby. It’s a short walk from Nishi-Oita Station, which feels surprisingly local for a station only one stop from Oita Station. My room looked toward the mountains, but the ocean-facing rooms might have a better view. The place is clean and inexpensive for a business hotel, and perfectly fine. The one unusual drawback is that there’s no elevator. I felt the staff had a harder time with that than the guests.

I chose Bizho because I specifically needed to stay in Nishi-Oita, and it works well if you see its unusual location relative to downtown Oita as a plus. The facilities are well maintained, and Bizho has its own strengths, though the lack of stairs is probably the biggest drawback. I’m less sure about the value. Weekday prices feel affordable, but weekend rates seem excessive, especially for a place that doesn’t appear to have high demand. For a while, booking was only possible on its own website, which I used. It seems to have joined accommodation platforms recently, possibly explaining the increase in reviews over the past two months.

I was on the third floor, and there’s no elevator, so it was stairs for me, haha. There aren’t many places to eat within walking distance either. Apparently you need a taxi to get around.
